DOR JACL-AZ Community Film Viewing – “Our Lost Years” Documentary

February 18 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

In honor of the Day of Remembrance, the JACL-AZ Community will gather at the JACL Hall on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 1 pm for a viewing of the documentary, Our Lost Years.

Our Lost Years, by Producer/Director Lane Nishikawa, is a professional feature-length educational documentary film, developed to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Executive Order 9066. The film examines how lives were challenged, how livelihoods were lost, how families persevered and started over, and how the generations who have followed, continue to feel the effect of the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. Though all of our Issei (First generation) have passed on, we witness through their children and grandchildren, how their lives would forever change, and their futures would be unknown. We utilized historic and personal footage and photos to authentically visualize the amazing stories of the entire West Coast Japanese communities.

The film’s run time is 99 minutes. Light snacks will be served. Q&A to follow with Film Director, Lane Nishikawa.

To register, complete the RSVP Form and share how many in your party are attending. Thank you.
